This indicator measures the total ED length of stay* where 9 out of 10 complex patients completed their visits. *ED length of stay defined as the time from triage or registration, whichever comes first, to the time the patient leaves the ED.

ED length of stay is defined as the time from triage or registration, whichever comes first, to the time the patient leaves the ED to a hospital bed. Measured in hours. The 90th percentile is the maximum length of time in which 9 of 10 patients have completed their ED visit. Exclusion: non-admitted patients Note: This indicator definition is consistent with the Hospital Service Accountability Agreement Performance Measure.

This indicator measures the maximum amount of time (in hours) in which 9 of 10 patients have completed their emergency department visits to go home or be admitted to hospital as an inpatient. Two patient groups are as follows: 1. All admitted patients plus non_admitted patients with CTAS Level in ('1','2','3') 2. All non_admitted patients with CTAS Level in ('4','5') A lower number of hours is better.
