Welcome to the Ontario Health Indicator Library

The Ontario Health Indicator Library provides a fully searchable library of indicator profiles reported by OH and other entities. The library will feature indicator characteristics, including: the indicator definition, the rationale as to why (or why not) an indicator is reported, technical specifications, alignment information, information about data sources, and links to those sources. In addition to a keyword search, you can perform side-by-side comparisons of up to three indicators, based on different filters, such as sector, dimension, type, topic, and data source. You can also export the indicator definitions to a format of your choice.

Percentage of people aged 16 and older who reported that their emergency department visit was for a condition that could have been managed by their primary care provider, if that provider had been available	This indicator measures the percentage of people with a regular primary care provider who reported in a survey that the last time they went to the emergency department, it was for a condition that they thought could have been treated by their primary care provider if that provider had been available. It includes only patients aged 16 and older who visited the emergency department in the previous 12 months.
