Welcome to the Ontario Health Indicator Library

The Ontario Health Indicator Library provides a fully searchable library of indicator profiles reported by OH and other entities. The library will feature indicator characteristics, including: the indicator definition, the rationale as to why (or why not) an indicator is reported, technical specifications, alignment information, information about data sources, and links to those sources. In addition to a keyword search, you can perform side-by-side comparisons of up to three indicators, based on different filters, such as sector, dimension, type, topic, and data source. You can also export the indicator definitions to a format of your choice.

Adult premature mortality by material deprivation	This indicator measures the premature mortality rates of people aged 18 to 74 (deaths per 1,000 people), in Ontario, by material deprivation quintile. Premature mortality is defined as deaths before 75 years of age. The material deprivation quintiles are derived from the Ontario Marginalization Index (ON-MARG) and describe the likelihood that an individual is unable to afford or attain essential goods and services.
