Description
This indicator provides information on your residents aged 66 and older who have a prescription for an antipsychotic medication for a period of 90 continuous days measured from the last date of contact in the reporting quarter.

(Number of residents with a continuous antipsychotic drug prescription for a 90-day period / Total number of residents 66 and older, not in palliative care, with at least one prescription for an antipsychotic medication, and in LTC for at least 100 days) X 100

The number of residents with continuous antipsychotic drug prescriptions (with LTC flag) during 90 days prior to index date. Antipsychotic drug can be any antipsychotic drug from the DIN list (i.e. changes in antipyschotic drug type throughout 90 days are allowed).
Denominator (short description i.e. not inclusions/exclusions)
The total number of residents in OHIP/ODB cohort for the relevant fiscal quarter who are 66 years and older, not in palliative care, have at least one prescription for an antipsychotic drug during past 90 days, and are not new to their LTC home.

The indicator also captures antipsychotic medications dispensed that are prescribed on an as-needed basis (PRN). This indicator is strictly for measuring quality improvement efforts. It is not to measure accountability or performance.
