Description

This indicator provides information on your residents aged 66 and older who have concomitant prescriptions for at least two different antipsychotic medications, each for 90 continuous days.

(Number of residents with two or more continuous antipsychotic drug prescriptions for a 90-day period / Total number of residents 66 and older, not in palliative care, with at least one prescription for an antipsychotic, and in LTC for at least 100 days ) X 100

(i.e. Numerator/Denominator * 100 )

Numerator (short description i.e. not inclusions/exclusions)

The number of residents with two or more continuous antipsychotic drug prescriptions (with LTC flag) during 90 days prior to the index date. Switching antipyschotic drugs (differentiated by drug name) during the 90-day continuous use period is not allowed for this indicator.

Denominator (short description i.e. not inclusions/exclusions)

The total number of residents in OHIP/ODB cohort for the relevant fiscal quarter who are 66 years and older, not in palliative care, have at least one prescription for an antipsychotic drug during the past 90 days, and are not new to their LTC home. (This is the numerator from the Overall Rate indicator.)
