OTHER RELEVANT INFORMATION
Caveats and Limitations
The chronic conditions included in this indicator are not an exhaustive list; therefore, the rate of chronic conditions reported in this indicator may be an underestimation of the true prevalence of chronic conditions in the population. The list was developed in consultation with three physicians in an effort to identify conditions that are amenable to care and may indicate equity issues In addition, this survey excludes individuals living on Indian Reserves and on Crown Lands, institutional residents, full-time members of the Canadian Forces, and residents of certain remote regions, which will affect the representativeness of the sample and underestimation of the true rates. Altogether, these exclusions represent <3% of the target population.
Comments Summary
Education stratification analysis is restricted to 25 and older. Sampling weights are used for calculating all estimates.
